on the go: New York to Warsaw

On October 4, 2014, I went through with my bold decision to move to Warsaw. Yes, for the cliche reason. I met a boy in New York, I quit my cocktailing gig, and I moved in with him- in Poland. That's a unique mouth full of words. Look at how fast we're getting to know each other! Never in a million years would I have been able to imagine a life like the one I'm having. This is a risk I'm very happy to have taken.

So now you're probably wondering all about Warsaw! Well, this is where the base of my exploration starts. I know some things about the city, but I'm far from an expert. When I moved here, everything was super cold- the weather, the people, me. It was a grey city in my eyes. Then, spring came around. Everything changed. My attitude pepped up, people were jollier (and even if they weren't, they certainly didn't steal my joy), and things just seemed wonderful. I've got to thank Poland for changing my outlook on the way I see things in general. I put the saying, 'change your perspective, change your world,' into action, and it works!

Here were my initial views on Warsaw:

P.S. This video is from a previous blog I had with my sister called LoveChadRyan, but that blog is no longer being updated.

intro | WELCOME!

Have you ever been on a packed express train into Queens as a homeless man awoke from his nap and proceeded to urinate in the middle of the car? Do your daily commutes consist of breakdancers, mariachi bands, gospel preachers, and beggars? Have you and your best friend ever walked down Broadway, only to be stopped by Matt Dylan and invited for pizza later that day? If you've debated or answered yes to these three questions, why hello fellow New Yorker. If not, why hello it's nice to meet you, most likely sane person. I'm glad you've stumbled across my page. Please make yourself comfortable.

Right now I'm supposed to talk about how New York is the greatest city in the world right? I can go on and on about that life, which I will do from time to time, but this blog is also about my stories outside of the Big Apple. Here you will find the perspective of a New Yorker on the go, finding out what makes the world so special.

So far, I've fallen in love with the rhythm of the Italian language, adored the tango of the Argentinians, been welcomed in a winery in the Champagne region of France, and there's still more to do! My only hope for this blog is to show you the world as I see it. I could possibly give you some helpful advice, or merely entertain you. Either way, time to trust me because we're going for a ride!
